You can find this engineering and construction consultancy in Prague’s Pragovka Art District, an industrial complex with an incredible, unique atmosphere. However, it also came with several drawbacks that naturally stem from its history as a factory.

From an office lighting perspective, the main issue was the lack of natural daylight at the workstations. Yet, in a design and engineering office where people spend hours in front of screens, visual comfort is essential. We resolved this by implementing a combined lighting system, where daylight and artificial light work together simultaneously.

Using a combined lighting system comes with strict regulatory and technical requirements. We had to prevent glare, achieve perfect light uniformity and eliminate unwanted shadows and silhouettes.

When light absorbs sound

Another highlight is the integration of acoustic and lighting solutions through carefully selected fixtures. The project features, for example, the Bell Oval fixture by Polish manufacturer flexxica and the BuzziShade fixture by Belgian manufacturer BuzziSpace. In addition to excellent light rendering, both offer outstanding sound-insulating properties, contributing to the acoustic comfort.
