The sports hall balances functionality with architectural elegance. The single-storey structure houses a main sports floor with seating for 300 spectators, a smaller multipurpose gym, and supporting facilities. Each area called for a different lighting solution based on its intended use. Above the main sports floor, we installed Philips highbay luminaires certified for sports venues, while the stairways leading to the stands are lit by SIMES fixtures. Throughout the corridors, changing rooms, the smaller hall, and the entrance area, we specified luminaires from Czech manufacturer Halla.
The building was designed with a strong emphasis on visual connection to its surroundings — generous glazing along the perimeter creates a seamless relationship between the interior and the landscape outside, while maximising the use of natural daylight.
DALI smart controls cut energy use
A key element of the project is an advanced DALI control system, which allows lighting levels to be adjusted according to the type of sporting activity taking place. We configured it so that coaches have their own preset lighting scenes to choose from — whether for training sessions or competitive matches. The DALI system reduces the building's overall energy demand while maintaining optimal lighting conditions across a wide range of sports, from volleyball and basketball to floorball, futsal, and gymnastics.
Considered exterior lighting
At U1 Lighting, we supplied all exterior lighting to the architect's specification, which was guided by the concept of connecting the building with the landscape. To reinforce this relationship, we selected NEKO recessed ground-level luminaires and Escofet designer outdoor columns.
